Living in the moment

All to often as a mom and wife I get caught up in the daily and weekly tasks and schedules. I remember having so much free time just a few years ago and now it feels like there is barely time to sit and breathe between dance, school, household chores, and the kids other activities. This weekend we had the opportunity to go out of town on a mini getaway and it was so good for my soul. We had no plans other than whale watching and enjoying time together. As a history major of course my husband and I visited state parks, the aquarium, museums, a California Mission, and the beach. For the first time ever in 11 years we sat and watched the sunset on the beach. It's moments like these that I will never forget. Recently, I made a big decision regarding a company I was a consultant with and it feels so amazing to no longer have the obligation of working when the sacrifice is so much greater than the benefit. You just have to live in the moment and enjoy every bit of it. Time passes so quickly and I will be sure to remind myself of this more often. Love the life you have and enjoy the little things. Blessed to be back home with my girls and for a happy and healthy marriage.
